I wanted to thank you again for all the great work you did for my website. It has received a lot of great comments lately and I even had a great website review in our local paper.

You ROCK! Thank you so much for being so responsive. That's highly unusual in this day and age, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate how quickly you responded to our needs. THANK YOU!.

    - Lisa (Let My People Know)
I've downloaded, modified, used, and generally learned many themes, and I have to say that this one is a pleasure to work with compared to some of the others. The site is clean, and Outer Spice is quick to respond and very helpful. The colors are very well chosen, and the ads are placed well. This is a great buy if you like the theme. I'm sure you'll be happy.

[Socket is] one of the best WP themes (I just love the Aluminum skin!). Great work and definitely my next purchase. This theme is close to perfect!

Outer Spice did a great job on our web site! Everything works the way we envisioned it. They have been very responsive to our needs, developed great solutions to some of our unique challenges and were a pleasure to work with. The site works smoothly, looks great and never crashes. We will definitely continue to use them for our current web site as well as on future projects.

[Socket] is a damn good template and will have saved me days and days over writing my own site. I love this theme - it's great.

Outer Spice has played an instrumental role in helping consult and bring our ideas to life. The newly rebuilt and updated site gets rave reviews and helps us continue to sell work and grow our company. Outer Spice listens well, has vision and talent, and does great work!

    - Cory (True North Landscaping, LLC.)
Good job, guys!! Other developers should learn from you how to do dropdown animations - they are PERFECT. Good luck with sales. I'm a perfection hunter, so I've noticed your themes.

    - Stacey (Lawlis Creative)
Just wanted to tell you guys what a beautiful theme you have created! I have purchased several themes because I was not able to find the one that would fit my taste. Your theme has everything I need.

Today In Development: Blog In The Spotlight. Today’s blog is Function Web Design. With articles focusing on, you guessed it, web design, Function specializes in Wordpress theme and plugin development. I particularly like Function because they definitely live by one of our core philosophies here at Outer Spice: Less is More. For instance, Function seems to post an article no more than a few times per month. As a result, each of their articles are well thought out and of very high quality. Their articles are relevant, insightful, and original. Today’s article really caught my eye since Socket version 1.1 was just released, featuring a revamped theme options page. The article is entitled Wordpress Theme Options Overload? A Judgement Call and it brings up an interesting topic, once again, in the “less is more” category.

While this is one of Function’s shorter, less in-depth articles, it is very important because it asks this question at a very important time. Right now, theme developers are adding more and more options to their theme options pages, and too often it is only for bragging rights as to who has the largest number of options, even if a lot of them are redundant or useless. Socket contains one theme options page separated into 4 categories, and a total of around 50 options – all of which are necessary. We do not attempt to do anything that an existing plugin can already do, in order to avoid reinventing the wheel. That is exactly what this article is talking about. Check it out – it can really be applied to anything you do as a developer or designer. Content is king, meaning that design and functionality should always yield the the meat of your site: content. Having too many theme options can not only muck up your content, but more importantly scare away your potential clients due to over-complexity and over-complication.

Here is Function’s “mission statement” of sorts:

Designing a website that works… We Pride ourselves on giving you Great design & Functionality, providing a website that will impress on first looks, and continue to impress as you explore it. We make it as easy as possible for you to look after once we’ve finished. So if you’re after a website or blog design to freshen up you’re site we’re more than happy to help.
